On November 5, 2011 former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was arrested on 40 counts relating to sexual abuse of eight young boys over a 15-year period, including alleged incidents that occurred at Penn State. Joe Paterno, the former Penn State Coach was fired as the Head Coach of Penn State, which resulted in him announcing his retirement after this season. This video here raises a few questions. Did the board make the right decision in firing Paterno as the head coach? Did the people respond to this situation the right way? Were the riots justified, riots in which a news van was overturned? Did the media make this situation worse for Paterno than it actually was? What role did the media play in this situation?

Ohio State Robberies

Over the course of the past week, there have been three Ohio State students held up at gunpoint. Two were robbed of their belongings. One, a female and also the most recent victim, raised a commotion and the men ran off. This video focuses on a similar string of robberies from two years ago. Here are some of the questions we would like you to consider: Is the Columbus Police Department doing enough to help the campus students feel safe? Should the Ohio State Campus Police force be more responsive and pro-active to helping prevent these attacks? What can we do as students to help keep us more safe, especially when we are at a place or location which is off-campus? What would you do if you were attacked?

This video demonstrates the use of derogatory terms in everyday life. The particular term "that's so gay" is a very common one. Would you be offended if you overheard the two girls' conversation while shopping? Do you think that this commercial would be effective when aired on television? Lastly, why do you think the company chose a celebrity to be in the video?

Happy Meal Ban

Remember when you were a kid and asked your parents for a happy meal? In the video, San Francisco is going to ban the happy meal and we can see the "smile" suddenly becomes a "frown". What do you think of this? If the whole country bans the happy meal, what consequences do you think will come? On the other hand, why does the video use some posters such as the one "I want you for us army"?

Internet Crash Down?!

Technology is becoming one of the core reliance in society operation and even dominating some people's lives. Do you think you are addicted to the internet? Could you go an entire week without it? "Cancerous" Posts

Cyber bullying has become a massive problem amongst users of social networking websites. People feel that behind the keyboard, they are safe to say whatever they want. In this instance, someone is trying to spread positive support to a cause and someone else does not agree with her way of supporting such cause. Little did the bully know how much controversy he would start. Some may agree with his views, but other will be completely against it. Could he have expressed his thoughts in a nicer manner, or was he in the right to express his opinion in a belligerent way? What are your opinions on the topic at hand?

ONN's sarcasm this time finds a new target: parents and feminists who are oversensitive about the effect of today's consumerist culture on our young women. However, ONN may not want to get too far with this kind of subtle sarcasm, because the audience may not always be able to appreicate the humor. For some people the video could actually convey the exact message it is intended to contradict.
